Tonight we hiked our neighborhhood trail with our friends to find jack-o-lanterns and treats waiting in the woods. Each family carved a couple of pumpkins and we all had a ball finding them lit along the trail.
Dad came home with a Happy Birthday balloon for Sadie and a Get Well balloon for Maren. Maren got the kindergarten stomach flu for Sadie's birthday and so the celebration was low key. Sadie's cake waits on the counter until Maren has the tummy to handle it.
Sadie received a carton of chirping eggs from her sister and a toy SUV from the Harkers. Sadie loaded up the SUV with eggs and off she went for a ride!
Not pictured are the silver sliver of a moon hanging in the morning twilight sky, the small fox that slinked across the trail before me, the bald eagle soaring in the wind above my head or the three moose grazing in the alders along the trail. Big wild Alaska life as night turns into day!
Seven hours of kindergarten. Twenty Four kids to contend with. After school Maren just wants a little down time. The problem lies in that at the same time Sadie has been waiting ALL DAY for Maren to get home. Maren completely barricades herself under the table and Sadie stands on the perimeter squawking, "uh, uh, uh, uh, uh!
