SERIOUS SAND DUNE ACTION
Early Season Flowers & Plants
Hiking the bluff in Kincaid I saw... grove sandwort
Rockcress
Northern Red Currant
A single prickly rose
Devil's Club
Black currant (?)
and Bluebell buds.
SAND DUNES!
The sand dunes at Kincaid are active and spreading into the forest. We climbed over 100 feet up to the top of the dunes.
Shoes came off immediately as the sand was soft and sugary.
Chillin' Alaska beach style.
Canoe Practice
In preparation for our Kenai canoe trails trip, we took a paddle around Cheney Lake. The girls fished for rainbows and no one fell out.
We explored a small island and saw grebes, a loon and a couple of lesser yellowlegs.
