Hike Along the Bluff

We found a little fort in the elderberry shrubs.

The bluff trail was full of wild raspberries and almost ripe cranberries.
The wildflowers are gone.

Charlie surveyed the beach and then...

...headed straight for the water.

Maren spotted sandhill cranes and eagles. It is amazing what this kid can see.

Salmonberries

Salmonberry time in Girdwood.

LOTS of bushwhacking this year.

But SO worth it.

LOVE picking berries!

Farm Girls

Maren attended The Learning Farm this week. She rode a horse every day, fed pot-belly pigs, milked goats, collected eggs, made goat cheese, drove a pony cart, sheered and carded sheep wool and fed young cows with a bottle.

Sadie became a farm girl too.

Resurrection Pass 50 Miler

I ran my first 50 mile race last weekend, from Cooper Landing to Hope. 38 miles on the trail and over the pass and another 12 around the gravel roads in Hope. A 9 hour and 48 minute adventure. I loved every minute of it. Gorgeous scenery, great friends to run with, lots of solo running time and fabulous support from my family. An amazing day!

Almost done with Maren as support-

Also got to run about 5 miles with Charlie.

Celebrating at the end.
