Alyeska Family Ski Day

Pulled Maren out of school on David's day off for some Alyeska family fun...
Lots of new snow

Wet conditions, but fun family skiing

Tram ride

Wacky tea break...

Sitzmark wrap-up!

Spring Break Cabin

The girls and I skied out to the ER cabin for a couple of nights of spring camping.

Carried a pack and pulled a sled.

This is what I looked like hiking out.

And here is where we stayed.

Actually, this is it.

Outside our door

Rough life for a lab.

Bunkbed headlamp activities.

Chilly, but bright morning hike.

Good quality sister time.

They spend a lot of time out along the water, on their own, away from the cabin.

David joined us for day 2.

Super fun girl time.

Hard to leave.
Tree elf.

Only 40-50 MPH Winds

A hardy group of Alaskan youth explored the snow caves in tough conditions.

In and out of caves they ran and crawled, unaffected by the high winds and stinging ice crystals.

Charlie kept an eye on the kids as they rolled down the hill.

Snow Caves and Kid Ski

WE FOUND THE SNOW CAVES!!!

Very cool.

Girls LOVED them.

The Goves are off.

Sadie gets a tow.

And Sadie is off...

In the Mountains

We braved the chilly windy conditions in search of the snow caves.

Lots of trudging,

but no snow caves.

Hot cocoa in the trees was good.

Maren built her own snow cave.

Run down to the car.
