"This Looks Like Me"

"Who is this Mom?"
That was me when I was a kid.
"That was you?"
Yes.
"This looks just like me!!!"

Our Tree This Year

Our skinny Alaskan tree is one of a kind. Charlie brown would be proud.
Sam the cat wants to climb it and attack the lights.
The top of the tree is so scrawny, it barely holds our paper plate angel.

And the only lights we have that work are one strand of red.
She's a beauty.

Christmas Tree Hunting

We skied into the woods this morning to catch ourselves a tree.

Charlie was so excited with his jingle bell collar on...

We found a real Charlie Brown tree...

...and David skied it home.

Charlie Claus

(Yes, now I buy Christmas pet apparel.
But look how handsome and holiday-ish he looks!)

Chilly (not Chili) Dog Run

The blue landscape at the dog park this morning---about 6 degrees.

Charlie didn't mind.

We found a few trees lit up along the trails.

Frozen lake, but sticks are available.

Frozen face.

Cat Got Your Tail?

Sam constantly pushing his limits with what will be tolerated.

Charlie reaction...zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz...

With Family in Spokane

We are just back from a week in Washington with the Duffy clan.
We had a great visit and it was very nice to be all together for Thanksgiving.

Lots of love to go around!

Thanksgiving Turkeys Set the Table

Grandma let Maren select place setting for each guest, set the table and make place cards.
She created a lovely table!
Sadie added her own personal touch by placing a marshmallow at each place. Very classy.

In lieu of a kids' table, we had a "stuffie" table this year for the inanimate objects.
The turkeys who set the table.

Pop-Pop's Turkey Farm

Pop-Pop Duffy has his own turkey colony in the front yard. I think it has something to do with the corn he feeds them. Maren took over the daily feeding job and spent much of the trip trying to "tame" the turkeys. many a time she'd coming running in having spied a tom with a beard. By the end of the visit she was a regular " turkey whisperer."

This was the view right out the dining room window on Thanksgiving Day.
If they only knew what was going on inside!

Sled Dog

Mush, mush!
Ya, ya!

Meet Ivy

Maren made Ivy this weekend.
She used one of David's old socks and stuffed her with toilet paper.

She sewed on her hair for a dread-like look.

The girl can sew!
