My mom watched the girls while David and I ran from our place up to Near Point. We discovered trails right from our hood up to the hillside. It was brushy and beary with many scat specimens and tracks, but we whistled and talked and sang and kept our hands near our bear deterrents. It was such a joy to "discover" what lies just out our door- together. We found tons of blueberries and plotted out our next adventure on the next ridge over. We bushwhacked home and wound up in Stuckagain Heights. Three and a half hours later we made it home.
