Lake Lap

Lovely little lake lap around Goose Lake this morning.

The sun just came over the mountains as we arrived- about 10:30 AM.

Our Favorite Reindeer

When we pulled out the reindeer antlers this year, we couldn't help but think of Marker.

Christmas Magic

Maren's been playing this game for years, but this year she has a sidekick.
Sadie is a very willing and able Santa, now that she knows who Santa is!
Notice the wrapped presents in the sleigh!

Now I never knew the reindeer hung stockings on their antlers.

Snowman

Maren's first of the year!

Thankgiving Centerpiece

Maren made our turkey bobblehead and the flowers came from a friend.
We have much to be thankful for.

Ashes is Here!

Ashes, the class guinea pig, is staying with us for awhile.

The girls were up and playing with Ashes by 6:30am!

Snow Play

We brought the snow inside for the toddlers to cook...
and create...

and even paint!

Whatever Keeps Her Busy!

I let her play with eggshells so I could mop.
She broke them into tiny little pieces.
Then I got to clean it up.

Toyland

Sadie and her buddies visited the Science in Toyland exhibit at The Anchorage Museum today.

Lots of fun things to do...

and see.

Ladies Tea

Sadie likes hers with honey and cream.

Princess Problems

Maren is the Queen of England and her husband, the king, passed away.
Amei is a princess and she was supposed to be married but the prince broke his vows of marriage, so Amei had her baby Sadie anyway.

They sure look happy for princesses with so many problems.

No Smoking

DAMN!
I used to love smoking in Maren's room!
?????

Oh They Just Can't Wait to Be King!

The Lion King is alive and well at our house. The kids presented " I Just Can't Wait To Be King" today as Nala (Maren) and Simba ( Jonah). They even made their own masks and wore them just as the actors did in the Broadway production.

Sadie couldn't make a mask, so I had to tie a Simba coloring page cut-out to her head.

Then the hyenas came out to sing and dance to "Chow Down."
Notice the mask change.

After the production, an announcement was made to let the audience (Jill and I) know that we could meet the players and get their autographs. So we did.

Sadie's First Snow

We had our first snow of the season three days ago. Every morning Sadie brings me a bowl and a spoon and asks me for some snow. When it is time to go out in the snow she says, " No, I don't like it. Snow is yucky." It is going to be a long winter.

Fake Sleeping

Strange Alaska Sightings

Walrus skulls and whale teeth for sale on the corner.

Ducks riding in cars.
(This is Marshmellow. The resident duck at Maren's school, heading home with the principal.)

Mama and baby moose snacking on leftover pumpkins.
