Fishing

China Poot Yurt Heaven

We stayed in China Poot Bay in a yurt from Alaskan Yurt Rentals http://www.alaskanyurtrentals.com/

for four days. We were met with brilliant weather, lovely accommodations and the bay to ourselves. We saw eagles, harbor seals, otters, black bear ( from a safe distance), salmon, kingfishers, salmon, crows, snails, flounder and crabs. We had perfect kayaking conditions and a trailhead in our front yard. We also enjoyed our own private beach and a mellow lagoon for the girls to explore.

Meals on the beach

Hike to Halibut Cove. We followed Mama and baby grouse along the trail. We found some ripe blueberries and salmonberries.

View into Halibut Cove from the Coalition Trail

The girls were busy. Exploring low tide and all its treasures,

kayak paddles,

turning into wild animals ( Marshmellow the wild white wolf -Sadie and Copper the red fox- Maren),

catching small fish and snails,

and hooking bigger fish like this flounder.

They slept VERY WELL.

The sun was fabulous!

We watched a lot of caveman TV.

Lots of family fun!
