Snowshoein' Up Knoya

Bears are awake!
Long snowshoe up to the dome. We followed these tracks, with bear deterrents in hand, for a while.

Views from the top of the Dome

Lots more routes to explore

Nitwit runners!

Below the Dooms

Family hike down the dunes to the beach.
Sadie calls the dunes "dooms" and runs super fast, top down.

Below the dooms now, but lots more descent until we hit the beach.
The girls were so excited to be snow free.

Old car graveyard half way down

Although not visible in this shot, this shoreline was filled with HUNDREDS of birds: snow geese, Canada geese, mew gulls and ducks.

One lone noisy crane flew overhead looking for friends.

Charlie (dead center) LOVED the smells at the beach and ran and ran.

It was windy and chilly, but we all enjoyed a new adventure.

Hike with Uncle G

Post-holin' to avoid the moose that charged Charlie

Low tide views below Kincaid bluff

Happy hikers!
