Maren fashioned a knight's helmet out of the extra vinyl flooring from David's floor project. She knighted herself "Sir Floor-A-Lot!" Give this girl some duct tape and she can make things happen.
Another amazing weekend in Girdwood. Sunshiney ski day Saturday, dinner with friends and then a dumping of snow on Sunday. I got to ski with Maren for the first time. She is awesome. She is skiing the whole mountain on her own now! Sadie tried the magic carpet with the clip-on skis, but told David, " We forgot to do the chair Dad." She wanted to ride the chair lift!
Even though this photo is blurry, it clearly demonstrates the complete awe Sadie has for Maren's ideas. Maren came up with the knight motif and tinker toy get-up and Sadie just admired her for it. Sadie looks at Maren with complete gratitude for including her in on the fun.
(Mushers throw dog booties at the kids- some with candy, some with little gifts, and some used with dog poop on the bottom. Maren collected 17 yesterday!) At some point during the viewing the booties go on kid hands and they turn into a pack of sled dogs.
This is the trail that runs right through our neighborhood.
Maren's K/1 classroom had its' portfolio share where Maren gets to show off all her work. She basically tours us through all the work she has done. She reads to us, brings us food and is just so proud of her class. Such a great morning! Love this photo of her on her book. (Axl Rose-ish)
