Chalet Days

We left Monday and drove to Moose Pass to stay at a chalet for four days during spring break. It was lovely. The chalet was fully furnished, cozy with comfy couches, movies and even an outdoor hot tub! We had lots of peaceful family time ( is that possible?)---Maren was pleasantly surprised when we told her we were staying at a chalet. She had envisioned the bare bones, wooden planks for beds we usually find at the public use cabins we frequent. But this was the lap of luxury. We ate like hogs ( including an apple pie AND a strawberry rhubarb pie), lounged and read and talked and I hot tubbed in the morning and before bed and even in the snow!

Sadie got some new chewy rings and put them to good use.

Maren's favorite chalet pastimes included: feeding the dogs cookies on the spiral staircase (cookies from heaven- the dogs were actually looking upward at random by the time it was time to leave!), hanging out in the loft, self-serve water from the water cooler, finding mooses all over the house, sleeping in the top bunk, pie for breakfast, Fruit Loops for breakfast ( she didn't know cereal came in colors!), hot chocolates after outside play, reading and finishing Harry Potter with Dad and then getting to watch the movie---and not even getting scared!

Marker patrolled the deck.

Maren did moose role playing.

Sadie sucked on apples.

What vacation would be complete without some rough housing?
