Up Mount Marathon

I took a climb/run up Mount Marathon for the first time. I've never done anything like it. One hour and nineteen minutes of straight-up climbing and 28 minutes of straight down running and holding on for dear life. It was a combination hike, walk, run, climb, scramble and slide. The flowers were beautiful and the views amazing. I captured a few of the lovely sights on my way up. Above- Monkey flower or Wild Snapdragon.

Golden Pholiota
(this is my best guess)

Coltsfoot

Fleabane

Jacob's Ladder

Alaska Poppy
I found this near the summit. It was beautiful.

Dwarf Fireweed

The view from above the clouds was astounding. Such a reward for the hardwork of the climb.

Alpine Veronica

Looking down onto Seward.
